Lottie Moon Christmas Offering

We have begun collecting the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering for 2011. Everything given to this offering will go directly to the work of the International Mission Board. This organization’s purpose is to support missionaries across the world.

Our church goal is $800. Please pray how God would have you give to help fulfill our mission to every nation, tribe, and tongue.

Hanging of the Greens

Join us this Wednesday evening, November 30th, at 6pm for our annual Hanging of the Greens service.

We will gather together to decorate the church for Christmas and end with fellowship including snacks or small food items. Don’t forget to bring a small dish.

Love Out Loud Women’s Conference

Come join us and be blessed as we share, together, the joy of the Lord and learn from other women how they are living – Out Loud – the Blessed Life.

This conference is being hosted by the SBTC and will be held at South Side Baptist in Abilene.
When: Friday, September 23 6pm – Saturday, September 24 2pm
Cost: $20 (Age 29 under just $5) Includes notebook, lunch on Saturday, and snacks!

If you are interested there will be a sign-up sheet available in the foyer.

Sunday Nights in August

This year we will once again join with other churches in our area (Elmdale and Potosi) for a time of joint worship and fellowship on each Sunday night in August. Here is the schedule:

August 14th: Potosi Baptist (Testimonies and Music)
August 21st: Elmdale Baptist (TBD)
August 28th: Hamby Baptist (Missionary Guests)

A fellowship meal follows each of the services.

1 John Challenge

We have begun a new sermon series studying the book of 1 John. It is a relatively short book that’s main goal is to reassure believers of their salvation. Here is the challenge: For as long as we are studying 1 John, let’s read it through once every week. There are only five chapters so it works great to read one chapter each weekday. Even if you sit down and read the whole book in one setting it takes less than 30 minutes. So, let’s commit to reading 1 John together and ask God to speak to us clearly through his word.
